George Hamilton IV Passes Away
Even though he’s technically not considered rock and roll, I have to mention today the death of George Hamilton IV. He was one of the pioneers of recorded music in the Fifties with a Top 10 song called “A Rose and a Baby Ruth.” It was a typical teen age love song, but I always enjoyed hearing it, even to this day. Hamilton left the pop genre and spent most of his career in country, with a number one song in 1963, “Abilene.” He was 77 years old.
