Marvin Junior of the Dells Passes Away
Does anyone remember the Dells. They were a smooth R&B group that were called doo-wop years after doo-wop had kind of died out. The had 8 Top 10 songs between 1968 and 1973 and if younger than 50, you probably don’t remember them. Well, Marvin Junior was their lead singer and he just died on Wednesday, May 29 of kidney failure. There biggest hit was “Oh, What a Night” which was released in 1956 was a Top 10 R&B hit. Then in 1969, they released it with a more pop sound and it hit the Top 10 on the pop charts. Do you remember….
