The Doors, “Roadhouse Blues”
I mentioned before that I’m working on the Doors right now. Just came across a song I had not heard before. It’s from their fifth album “Morrison Hotel” which came out shortly before Jim Morrison died. The song is called “Roadhouse Blues” and, I think, is blues at its best. Morrison did not have any musical training, nor could he read music and yet he wrote some great stuff. Lonnie Mack (remember “Memphis” from 1963) plays guitar and John Sebastian (The Loving Spoolful) plays harmonica. I think this is a great song:
